For 100s of years neurologists have been recording what happens when epileptics have a fit.
The various stages and states the brain goes through both in the first stages through to the full stage seizure.
It was discovered that the uncontrolled firings on neurons can trigger an altered state, be it out of body experiences or paranormal experiences.
By firing magnetic pulses into epileptics (volunteers by the way) it was found that the majority would have some kind of out of body experience, and more importantly they would remember it.
Normally when an epileptic has a grand Mal seizure once its over they are very disorientated and it takes some reassurance from others around to bring them back into a "normal" state.
They dont remember much before or during the seizure, but it was found that they did remember an out of body experience.
How bizarre!
Dr Michael Persinger produced a chamber which would fire magnetic pulses which would then stimulate subjects’ temporal lobes causing an out of body experience.
So could it be possible that when people experience an out of body episode, what there actually having is a mini seizure?
It was interesting found that the experience people had relevant to their particular beliefs, some saw Jesus, others saw The virgin Mary, Muhammad, or the Sky Spirit. Others, with more than a passing faith in UFOs, tell of something that sounds more like a standard alien-abduction story.
This is very interesting isn't it! So with this in mind would someone who just happened to be in a strong magnetic field ( which could theoretically happen )and who believed in ghosts.................you see where I'm going with this!!!!
